No chance for hackers – authorizations at Leipzig University Hospital are reliably managed by the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager<\/h1><\/h2><\/div>

Every year, more than 400,000 inpatients and outpatients are treated at Leipzig University Hospital, which is steeped in tradition. More than 6,000 staff are employed at the maximum care hospital to look after the well-being of patients and the processes behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Challenges in access management and the search for solutions<\/p>\n<\/div>

In one of the most modern clinics in Europe, the IT landscape must be regularly updated in addition to the structural and technical infrastructure. An important point here is access management. The manual maintenance of access rights with conventional Windows board tools was becoming increasingly complex and confusing, so a convenient solution was sought. The project team led by project manager Ivette Schmidt-Morich came across the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager<\/b> during their research. The solution from Darmstadt-based software manufacturer BAYOOSOFT GmbH<\/b> can be easily adapted to individual customer requirements thanks to its modular structure.<\/p>\n

As a central component of the Access Manager, the self-service portal enables end users to apply for authorization independently without involving second-level support. “This doesn’t mean any more work for employees. They can now apply for new access rights quickly and easily and view the status of their access requests,” confirms project manager Ivette Schmidt-Morich. “The Access Manager also significantly reduces the workload for directory managers. They can see at a glance which access rights are assigned in their area of responsibility and can process new access rights requests with just a few clicks.”<\/p>\n<\/div>

Implementation of the BAYOOSOFT Access Manager<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

“With the help of BAYOOSOFT Access Manager, we were able to transfer the structures of our file server, which had grown over many years, into a state of compliance with applicable requirements. The administrators in second-level support can now apply their specialist knowledge to other topics instead of having to deal with recurring access assignments,” praises Daniel Pfuhl, Head of System Management. “The very well coordinated application components of the application also ensure a high level of technical reliability in system operation,” adds IT administrator Marcus M\u00f6wes.
\nThe implementation of the software during ongoing operations at Leipzig University Hospital went smoothly.
\nThe directories were imported into the Access Manager step by step while retaining all rights. The folder managers and directory administrators then checked the currently assigned rights and made initial changes with the help of the software.
