Reliable use in hospitals: ViDia Christliche Kliniken Karlsruhe relies on automated access management with BAYOOSOFT Access Manager<\/h1><\/h2><\/div>

Since 1851, Vincentius-Diakonissen-Kliniken gAG has agreed that time is a valuable commodity. Operations must not come to a standstill: The clinics are dependent on remaining operational 24 hours a day. This applies not only to the operational business with customers, but also to the organizational structure behind the scenes. ViDia Christliche Kliniken Karlsruhe admits an average of 50,000 inpatients per year and treats a further 150,000 outpatients. The organizational effort required to ensure proper documentation is correspondingly high.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Need for a more efficient access management structure<\/p>\n<\/div>

As part of the restructuring and conversion of the existing file server structure to a new storage system, a way was sought to make the access management processes more professional and efficient. The solution was provided by Darmstadt-based software manufacturer BAYOOSOFT GmbH with its BAYOOSOFT Access Manager.<\/p>\n

Targeted implementation of requirements<\/h3>\n

“Our existing access concepts needed to be simplified, manageable and controllable. Another concern of the restructuring was to reduce the effort for access management to a minimum, taking into account all economic aspects,” says Dipl.-Ing. Gunther Buchtala, then project manager from the system technology department of Vincentius-Diakonissen-Kliniken gAG.<\/p>\n

“The software developers at BAYOONET AG implemented our requirements for the software in a targeted manner. They adapted the Access Manager, which has a modular structure, perfectly to our needs,” reports Gunther Buchtala. BAYOOSOFT GmbH, which was spun off in 2022, has been pursuing the co-thinker philosophy for over 20 years. “We want to support our customers with the often complex structures within their IT department. It is important for us to be able to offer our customers an individual solution that really helps them instead of just working according to a formula,” says Frank Manger, CEO of BAYOONET AG.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Advantages of the self-service portal<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The central component of the Access Manager is the self-service portal, through which end users and data controllers are directly integrated into the access management process. Clear monitoring and reporting enables users to keep track of access changes. “In the area of assigning rights for individual areas of the file server structure, the effort has been reduced to a quarter of the usual time at most,” says Buchtala, who knows that every minute in the clinics is valuable, as the work of 3,200 employees in 16 medical centers has to be coordinated every day.<\/p>\n

The decision-makers at Vincentius-Diakonissen-Kliniken gAG are also impressed by the cost-effective and simple management of the file server structure and the control of the access management. “The Access Manager significantly reduced the effort involved in setting up and maintaining the file server,” reports Gunther Buchtala on his experiences in the early days. The restructuring of the file server took the hospital around a year, as the review and evaluation of the legacy files was very extensive. “In individual areas where the data only had to be migrated, the effort was reduced to a few minutes.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Successful collaboration and implementation<\/p>\n<\/div>

“The cooperation with the BAYOONET AG team during the project and implementation phase was always goal-oriented. Establishing the software and familiarization went smoothly. The employees responded immediately to queries,” says Gunther Buchtala, praising the successful collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
